As soon as I met Terry and Ayman, I knew that I should be a part of their day. They are happy and in love and it genuinely shows, something that I am a firm believer in. Terry has been beyond excited about the photography aspect of her day since our first e.mail exchange which makes my job 100 times easier. As soon as we started talking engagements, she wrote me an e.mail that went a little something like this-
“Hey Leah, I have a very odd request, that I’m not even sure can be done, but figured you’d know better than I would. Ayman and I rescue EVERYTHING, dogs, cats, birds, people, EVERYTHING. Our friends commonly refer to the condo as the half-way house for all things strayed and hungry. We wanted to know if one of the locations for our 2 spot photoshoot could be at an animal shelter? It would be fun, playful and kinda symbolic of what we do as a couple. “
I honestly didn’t know what to do. I’d never heard of pictures at an animal shelter before, especially engagement pictures. I thought about it a lot, talked it over with Lindsey and my husband, and then decided that I wanted to do whatever I could to give Terry the most important pictures possible that would mean the most to her. We spent the first half of our session wandering around a path and finding hidden little treasures of spots and from there, took off to, Austin Pets Alive!
Austin Pets Alive was so excited about having Terry and Ayman take pictures there. Their staff was insanely helpful and friendly and the animals were as cute as could be. Every time Ayman and Terry picked up a new dog or cat to hold and cuddle, I could tell that they wanted to take them home with them. It really was a special thing to be a part of. Now I should let the pictures speak for themselves:
