I met Courtney and her daughter, Aubrey, in my daughter, Harper’s, Little Gym class. Confused yet? Immediately I could tell how fun they both were and when Harper latched on to Courtney, I was secretly happy that she had just scored me a sweet new friend! Cut to half a year later and Courtney wanted me to take some pictures of Aubrey to celebrate her turning 2 years old and I couldn’t have been more excited.
Aubrey is a spitfire. She is hilarious and full of energy and charming and tons of other awesome adjectives! I think that she sounds like Cookie Monster when she talks which makes me laugh..constantly. Our time together flew by super fast. And by fast, I mean that we ran around South Congress for the evening and I was entirely worn out at the end of it because OH MY GOSH, Aubrey is fast.
I hope that these pictures capture what an amazing little girl Aubrey is! I can’t wait to see how she grows.

My Boyfriend, Brian, and I just got back from a lovely week long vacation in New York City where I quickly fell in love with everything around me. We did silly touristy things, took a lot of pictures (and felt like a silly tourist!), went shopping (can H&M please come to Austin?), ate delicious treats, and spent a lot of time visiting our lovely friends. I could have been away for two weeks and it still wouldn’t have been enough time to do all the things we wanted to do. All of that to say: New York is wonderful, vacation was wonderful, and life is really really really wonderful.

Melissa and Izzy started giggling as soon as I took my first picture and didn’t stop until the very end of our session.. or maybe, afterward, who knows. We picked a spot in the Hyde Park area and spent the evening walking around, getting to know each other, and getting some beautiful pictures. Melissa and Izzy have fun together and I genuinely can not wait for their November wedding.

When Emma first emailed me, she and her husband, Paul, were in the final stages of adopting their beautiful baby girl from Ethiopia. About a week or two before our session, they flew over there to bring home their new daughter, Dolly, who is absolutely cute and sweet as can be. I had been following Emma and Paul’s blog and read all about their adoption experience so I was beyond excited to spend an afternoon photographing their new life in their home. Emma and Paul make becoming new parents seem practically effortless. I was honored to document such a momentous occasion for their whole family.
