Jason & Michelle wanted something fun and different in place of a traditional wedding guest book. We talked about it a lot and decided to set up a photobooth during their reception and let their guests write sweet messages to them. Then they would make an album from those photos…and there you have it! A guest book containing photos to document all of their guests and their sweet celebratory messages- all in one place
This was my third year in a row taking pictures of the Osbon family and every year, we’ve traveled down to the park by their house and spent some time in the trees. This year, Anna joined us for the first time. Anna is 9 months old and I don’t think stop smiling the whole time. Ryan is 3 years old and I don’t think stopped moving the whole time. Yes, family portraits can be crazy and hectic but when you get the pictures back- they look like you.
Kind of like my tree sweaters, this post has nothing to do with weddings. As much as I love love LOVE my job, I always like to have personal projects going on that aren’t related to work. These are scans of gum bichromate prints I made back in July. I gathered various items at the grocery store, arranged them on a shelf to make a sweet message, photographed them, and then promptly got asked to leave the store
I spent a good 10 hours working in the dark room and ended up with a nice stack of prints that were mushy and wonky like the one above. When I was trying to figure out if I was doing something wrong I was told, “No, there’s a reason people don’t print like this anymore…” Well, okay!
I have three framed that hang by my front door. I like seeing these sweet messages as I leave my house in the morning- It starts my days off with a good mood.
This was my second year taking pictures of Rachel and Griffin and I was really excited for Rachel’s vision. Golden light.. a field… balloons. It’s all been done before but I still get excited by sun rays and grass up to the knees. We were pleasantly surprised by another photographer taking engagement photos close by that suggested swapping our balloons for their chair. Yes, I would call this photo session a success story.
Samar and Ben met each other through mutual friends three times before they had a real conversation. And from then on, they couldn’t stop talking. They made it through 6 months of long distance before Ben moved to Texas to be closer. Two years later, they got engaged and in one month, they’ll be married. Ben and Samar are a blast to be around and I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that’s a bigger fan of Harry Potter than my husband.. until I met Samar. I can’t to capture their wedding day!
