Vacation in Portland | Travel Photography

OOOOooooooh, Portland. I always wanted to visit the city and finally had a spur of the moment opportunity to hop on a plane with my dear friend, Julie, and seize the day! Our days consisted of waking up early, exploring the city, and dragging ourselves back in to bed at the end of it to slumber. We rode bikes around the bridges, walked and took pictures until our arms and legs couldn’t carry on, saw the most beautiful trees my eyes have ever been privileged to see, visited Cannon Beach and absolutely fell in love, and enjoyed life every day.

Taking a trip and just taking time to BE is one of the best presents I could ask for. This trip meant a lot to me and these photographs show it.

Betsy & Jim’s Red Corral Ranch Wedding in Wimberley, TX

I started the day off at Red Corral Ranch with Jim as he snacked on some food and waited for his groomsmen to arrive to start taking pictures. I could feel his anxiety and excitement. I had checked in with Betsy and told him how beautiful she was looking and he immediately starting tearing up. A little while later while taking some solo shots of Jim, I started talking about how he must be feeling and how great it was that he was going to be married within a few hours. Again, tears in his eyes. I knew that Jim seeing Betsy for the first time at the end of the aisle was going to be something special, and I definitely wasn’t wrong.

After all of the groomsmen and bridesmaids had entered in to the church, it was only Betsy left to come in through the doors. Watching Jim wait for her was one of the best parts of my job. He was SO ready for the doors to open. It literally felt like forever and I couldn’t take my eyes off of his reaction and the love that he had for her.. so obvious. He went from wanting to pull his hair out in anticipation to seeing her and literally gasping in to his hands. It was sincerely a moment that I will never forget.

Allyson + Erik | Maternity session in Zilker Park | Austin, TX

The best part of my job is meeting people during such exciting and happy times in their life. Seriously, it will never get old. When I started talking to Allyson about maternity photos, she said she wanted bright sunny pictures. Its no secret that I love golden sun, happy people, and putting the two together so I was beyond excited to meet and photograph Allyson and her Husband, Erik. We started the session at Zilker Park on a crowded Sunday afternoon and ended at their home with their three adorable dogs. We laughed and smiled and sweat until it was dark and I couldn’t have hoped for a better session. I’m so excited to meet and photograph their first baby later this year.:)
