Kim and Philip at Bull Creek Park

Kim and Philip were winners of a giveaway for a mini session and I couldn’t have been more delighted to finally get together and take some pictures! We met up on an insanely overcast (and buggy) day to take some photographs to celebrate them. My favorite kind of pictures.. just because. Kim are Philip are insanely lovely to be around. My favorite part of our quick session was when Philip, mostly jokingly, suggested that they get in the water. Kim and I instantly jumped on the idea, to Philip’s dismay. And that’s how we all ended up with the coldest feet around.

Mandy & Patrick’s Wedding at Canyon Lake

Its a warm 90 degree February afternoon in Austin today, so a lakeside wedding ceremony seems more than appropriate. I shared this when I blogged Mandy and Patrick’s sneak peek, but their wedding was originally set for early this year. On a Wednesday in October, Patrick found out his job would be transferring him to Australia in just over a week. That Thursday I got an email asking if I was available to photograph their wedding on Saturday…in two days. They scrapped all of their previous wedding plans to put together their impromptu ceremony on the lake. And honestly, it was wonderful and incredibly special. You can spend months planning out every single detail of your wedding, and many brides do with incredibly beautiful end results. No matter how much planning goes into your wedding, though, the most important part is marrying your best friend and sharing that moment with your friends and family, which is exactly what Mandy and Patrick did.

Julie in her Bedroom

I love quiet portraits that just make you feel.. calm. I had been wanting to take pictures of my friend Julie for quite some time and everything aligned a little while ago in the form of a perfect little session, full of loveliness and inspiration. Angela of Lucie Marie came in and did the most beautiful makeup and hair on Julie. Lindy of Lindy Floral came in and added such subtle touches to Julie’s gorgeous room that just took everything up a dreamy, dreamy notch.

I honestly could have kept taking pictures all afternoon of Julie in her bedroom.

James and Lucia’s San Antonio Engagements

Sometimes, it all just comes together. You walk in to a park and the light is so amazing that you want to bundle it up for all of your future days. Your clients arrive, who you have yet to meet, and they are more lovely than you could have hoped for. It all flows and you love life. Now, in this situation the you is actually me and the cutie clients are actually Lucia and James. We hadn’t met until their engagements (which had been postponed due to weather what seems like 5 times) and I couldn’t have been more excited and more happy to be able to photograph them.

They met in highschool. They are so sweet and soft (with each other). They laugh at my jokes. Basically, they’re great.

I’m so in love and over the moon with their engagement pictures. And if this was just the first time we met? Oh boy, sparks are going to fly during their March wedding.

Sarah & Ben’s Wedding at The Inn at Wild Rose Hall

A few words come to mind when I think about Sarah, Ben, and their wedding day: sweet, sincere, honest, loving, and fun. When Sarah came walking down the aisle with her dad by her side, all of their guests stood up, cheered, and applauded. It was the type of moment that you hope for when you imagine what your wedding will be like someday. In that moment, I was so glad I had a camera to cover my face because it was the first of many times that evening my eyes filled with happy sentimental tears for them.
