Rachel and Wayne flew in from Ontario so that I could capture their elopement at the beautiful Le San Michele. Um, can we talk about how flattered I was? Let me sum it up by saying: hugely. Not only was it intimate and beautiful and so special to be a part of, but they hired Taylor, my husband, to officiate. Taylor is a newly ordained officiant and this elopement was his first soiree in to the field which was pretty wonderful for me to see. He also sang the bride down the aisle so.. that’s a pretty big deal. This day was wonderful.
I met Courtney at a gym class for little babes, when our children were only 2 years old. Now, they’re four and wild and crazy and amazing and I’m lucky to call Courtney one of my closest friends. I’m also wildly lucky to have watched Courtney and Jason welcome their second little one, Ainsley, in to the world. One of the most special moments in my life has been when I got to be at the hospital and see Aubrey, big sister, meet Ainsley for the first time. Cut forward a few months and I was happy to photograph this beyond beautiful family just hanging around their bedroom.
You may know that when we sing, our bodies release endorphins that make us feel good. When I was a little girl I would sing all the time. I was such a happy child. I sang at the store, walking with my mom, and in the car out the window. Everywhere I went I had music living inside of me, and that hasn’t changed. When we met, I found out right away that you’re a singer, too. Doing laundry, driving in the car, even in public when people are everywhere, and especially at karaoke night. When we are apart you sit at our piano and record songs for me and it makes me feel so loved. Even when you are in the kitchen humming to yourself, it makes me happy inside. You are my treasure. You are my everything. Each day you bring me peace. Each day you make my heart sing. I will always love you. I will always protect you. I will always be your wife. I will always sing you songs.
